Dr. Simone Sturm, DAOM, FABORM — Clinic Owner
Dr. Simone Sturm specializes in the holistic treatment of women and children. Her practice includes women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, labor and childbirth, postpartum care and pediatrics. She brings years of clinical experience to her practice, has worked as a primary care provider under California law, and strongly believes in the integration of Eastern and Western medicine in order to treat disease and maintain well-being. As an advocate of functional medicine, Dr. Sturm believes in healing and wellness for her patients according to their unique needs. Dr. Sturm has received advanced, post-graduate training in the US and China in reproductive health, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics.
Dr. Sturm is among the ﬁrst of a handful of practitioners in Colorado to have earned the degree of Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). She received her DAOM from Five Branches University in San Jose, CA with a specialization in Reproductive Women’s Health and Pain Management. Dr. Sturm is also a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, the ABORM. Fellows have demonstrated competency and advanced knowledge in the field of both Western and Oriental Reproductive Medicine by passing an advanced board certification examination. Additionally, Dr. Sturm has received extensive training in Functional Medicine from the Functional Medicine University.
She also holds Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from the Paciﬁc College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, where she graduated as valedictorian of her class. She has also been trained by CAPPA (the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) as a childbirth educator and labor doula, and she believes strongly in holistic pregnancy practices.
Dr. Sturm is board certiﬁed as a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, which is the most advanced certiﬁcation available in the field of TCM. She is certiﬁed by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique and is state certiﬁed in New York, California (as a primary care provider) and Colorado. She also offers fertility acupuncture treatments. Dr. Sturm is also a graduate of the University of Southern California.
Devoted to her passion for teaching, Dr. Sturm is a clinic supervisor and instructor at both the Colorado School of Chinese Medicine (CSTCM) in Denver and at Southwest Acupuncture College (SWAC) in Boulder. She is an active member of the SWAC Research Committee and a member of the ASRM, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Frances Rhodes, WHNP — Nurse Practitioner
We are very excited to welcome Frani Rhodes, board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, to the team at Denver Holistic Medicine, starting April 2017. Frani received her nursing degree from the University of Colorado in 2010.
Originally from Chicago, she moved to Denver in 2003 and has never looked back. Her clinical experience ranges from community health to urogynecology — her greatest passion has been helping women throughout her career in healthcare. She enjoys all aspect of women’s health and gynecology, with a focus on prevention and helping women live their best life.
In her free time, Frani enjoys snowboarding, hiking and exploring Colorado with her husband and two daughters.
Karlye Ambrozic — Office Coordinator
Karlye is a Denver Graduate from Metropolitan State University where she studied Integrative Therapies and Health Care Management. Her educational blend of Allopathic and Traditional healing allows a better understanding of both worlds when treating the body, mind and spirit. She found a strong passion for women's health in her youth, taking alternative measures to treating herself for various imbalances. Now, she joins DHM to see others achieve their individual health goals in an empowering and natural way. A California native raised in Colorado, she enjoys snowboarding and surfing, deepening her spiritual growth, and traveling to see other cultures around the world.
Sophia O’Keefe — Clinic Intern
Sophia joined Denver Holistic Medicine in August 2015 as our Office Coordinator. She recently decided to go back to school to study Chinese Medicine full time and has therefore taken on a new role at DHM, as our project supervisor. She is a North Carolina native and is now happy to call Denver her home. She has been working in holistic health care for 3 years prior to joining our team.
She has experience working with a multitude of holistic practitioners and methods, including naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, massage therapy, mental health therapy and physical therapy. She is passionate about alternative and holistic health and wellness and enjoys helping provide patients with the resources they need to take control of their own health.
In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, running, yoga and time spent with her beloved dachshund Tegan.
Mia Rosingana — Certified Fertility and Pregnancy Nutrition Consultant
Mia is a Certified Nutrition Consultant and Holistic Women’s Health Coach. She developed her Cultivating Fertility Program to help empower women to make healthy changes to their diet and lifestyle when trying to conceive. Mia is specifically trained in how foods and nutrients affect our reproductive systems and offers unique nutritional programs formulated to improve hormonal and reproductive health, enhance fertility, optimize pregnancy, and strengthen postpartum wellness.
Through honoring the seasons, traditional ways of eating, local foods, and using food as “medicine” she helps women balance hormones, optimize digestion function, and reduce and remove toxins harmful for fertility. Mia’s mission is to guide women to choose nature over chemicals and feel energized, powerful and fertile, increasing the chances of not only conceiving when ready, but doing so from a place of balance and vitality.
Brooke Holmes — Clinic Intern
Brooke is a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine, currently finishing her final year at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver. While studying Biology at San Diego State University she began volunteering at The Gerson Institute which sparked her interest in alternative medicine, ultimately leading her to enrolling in the Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Brooke is also a talented licensed massage therapist.
She has lived in Arizona, California, and is now a new resident of Colorado. She feels deeply connected to the desert, ocean, and mountains and spends a majority of her free time enjoying the outdoors. Brooke is passionate about integrating Chinese Medicine, nutrition, and Western Medicine to help patients achieve optimal health.
